Philip Lafleur Obituary

Philip Wilfred Lafleur transitioned peacefully from this life to the next on October 4, 2018, at Quabbin Valley Healthcare where he had been lovingly cared for several months. Phil was the son of Rose and Wilfred Lafleur of Methuen, MA. He began working in his father’s salvage business as a very young man, taking over the business when he returned from his service in U.S. Navy following WW II. He was the owner of Lafleur Salvage until his retirement, offering employment to many of his nephews, friends, and neighbors. Phil had many interests which kept him active and brought him joy throughout his lifetime and right up until a few days before his death. He loved fishing, camping and being outdoors. He was an avid gardener, growing both flowers and vegetables each year. He loved country music and enjoyed attending every outdoor summer concert he could find! and perhaps the activity that most kept his heart and mind young into his 90’s was playing cards on a daily basis whenever possible.

He leaves his daughter Phyllis and her husband Dennis of Princeton, MA. , his granddaughter Rebecca of Henniker, NH, his grandson Dustin and his wife Mei Hong Tan of Melbourne, Australia, his great grandchildren Avery , Delaney and Kadie Forrestall and Dakota Tan Pomerleau, his sister Theresa of upstate NY as well as many nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. He is pre-deceased by his wife of 61 years, Lima “Toots”,( Sicard) Lafleur, his brother George Lafleur, sisters Rose Ellsey, Regina Cook, Jeanette Gagnon, Eva Gray and Cecile Sicard.

During his last years, Phil often spoke of having had a very good life and of being ready to join those who have gone before him in the heavenly realms. Though we here sorely miss his physical presence, we rejoice in the life we have shared with this special man and share in the joy of his life eternal.
