Neil A. Bennett, 80, of Methuen, passed away on Tuesday, February 26th at Boston Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. He was born to the late Bruce and Ruth Bennett on August 28, 1938. Neil was a graduate from the Tenney High School in Methuen and served in the Army during the Berlin Crisis.
Neil is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Admarose (Shaheen) Bennett of Lawrence; his loving daughters, Andrea (Fugere) Hubbard and her husband Michael of Seabrook, NH, and Sharon (Blanchette) McGilvary and her husband Jay of Hudson, NH. Neil had four grandchildren he adored, Zachary and Madison Fugere, Paige and Grace Blanchette. Neil is predeceased by his brother, Warren Bennett and his wife, Margery of Tewksbury, MA.
Neil was the owner and operator of Bennett’s Service Station on the corner of Broadway & Lake St. in Lawrence for 57 years. It was here that many were blessed with his infectious smile, laugh and caring nature. Neil enjoyed spending time at Lake Winnipesaukee where he entertained family and friends. He and his wife were known to attend social events where they showed off their ballroom dancing. Neil was also very active in his daughters' lives whether it was during their high school years or later on. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen from 4 to 8pm.
