Lorraine A. Nelson, 72, of E. Hampstead, NH passed away on Christmas Eve at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.  Mrs. Nelson was born in Lawrence and was raised in Methuen.  She lived in Methuen and Salem, NH before moving to E. Hampstead.  Lorraine volunteered with the Rockingham County 4H clubs for over 30 years and was also a volunteer with Neighbors helping Newborns .  She also enjoyed quilting with her friends at a girls night out group.  She and her late husband owned and operated WAJO Tool & Die of E. Hampstead, NH.

The widow of Wendell W. Nelson, her family members include her daughters, Nancy G. and her husband, Dennis Crispo and Kristina A. and her husband, James Caverly, Jr.  both of E. Hampstead, NH  and her sons, David A. Nelson and his partner, Gregory L. Stone of Barre, VT and Richard W. and his wife, Nicole, Nelson of Concord, NH.  Lorraine also leaves her sisters, Laura Watson of Pelham, NH and Marilyn Berthel of Newton, NH and her brothers,  Robert Whipple of Salem, NH and Everett and his wife, Charlene Whipple of New Boston, NH.   She has 8 grandchildren, Elizabeth, James III, Elliot, Katie, Justin, Owen, Abbie and Emily as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday December 30, 2016 from 3 to 6 pm at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.   Funeral services will follow the visitation at 6:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Neighbors Helping Newborns, in care of Linda Steward, 286 Long Pond Rd., Danville, NH 03819 or to The American Kidney Foundation, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
