Lizabeth Ann “Betsy” (Dwinells) Landers, 62, of New Bedford, MA passed away suddenly Friday, August 23rd, 2019.
Betsy, as everyone called her, was born in Hartford, CT in 1956 but grew up in Lawrence, MA. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1974 and attended the former Castle Junior College in Windham, NH.
Betsy spent 11 years as an employee for Lowell General Hospital. She was also a long-time employee of Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, NH as she and her husband, Dana, raised their four kids in neighboring Groveton, NH.
She was an avid coffee drinker and loved her house plants. She also enjoyed spending time at home working on puzzles of all kinds and watching American Pickers. She loved to laugh and spend time with her family. She was an amazing wife, mom, nana, daughter, sister, and friend.
Betsy is predeceased by her husband, Dana. As well as her father, Andrew, sisters Anita, Cindy, and Chrissy, her brother Matt, and her nephew Robert.
She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind, including her sons, Christopher Landers and Rebecca Colby of Lunenburg, VT; David Landers, of Newport, RI; Scott Landers of Long Beach, CA; her daughter Tracy Landers and beloved granddaughter Ericka McGettigan of New Bedford. As well as her mother, Helen Dwinells of Salem, NH, her sister Veronica and brother-in-law Gary Harris of Sandown, NH, sister Marge and brother-in-law Rob Benedict of Methuen, MA, and sister Andrea and brother-in-law Joe DeMaio of Titusville, FL. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to calling visiting hours on Friday August 30, 2019 from 9am to 10:30 am at the Dewhirst &Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will follow the visitation on Friday at 11:00 am in St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Methuen.
