Kevin C. Marsland

Kevin C. Marsland of Laconia, NH, passed away suddenly at Concord Hospital on Sunday, September 29, 2019. He was 65 years old.  He is survived by his loving wife, Lee Marsland of Laconia, NH, his sister Diane Alie and her husband Marshall of Methuen MA, his brothers Robert Marsland of Northfield, NH, Scott Marsland of Methuen, MA, and Mark Marsland of Methuen, MA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kevin was born September 16, 1954 in Methuen, MA, the son of the late Charles and Rita (Heafey) Marsland. Kevin was a graduate of Tenney High School and Franklin Pierce College. He spent much of his life in the newspaper and distribution industry and worked with the Boston Herald, Eagle Tribune, Derry News, Seacoast Media Group, Pocono Record, Times Herald Record, Nashua Telegraph, Concord Monitor, and Manchester Union Leader. He enjoyed classic automobiles, sports, mechanics, and was a lover of animals. Kevin’s greatest passion was for his family and friends.

He is survived by his five children and their spouses:  Kevin Marsland Jr. and his wife Jane of Westwood, MA, Mary Wiley and her husband Craig of Mont Vernon, NH, Melissa Marsland, Jessica Sutton and her husband Bryan of Raymond, NH, Melissa Kenny and her husband Kalen of Washington, DC, and a son in affection, Paul Byers and his wife Terri of Belmont, NH.

He was a beloved “Papa” to his fourteen grandchildren: Charley and Henry Marsland, Alex and Katie Wiley, Emma Marsland, Eric and Elizabeth Brunelle, Kobe and Khloe Sutton, Quinn, Ryer, and Elisabeth Kenny, and Evan and Mackenzie Byers.

Kevin was an extremely dedicated Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend.  Universal among those he touched in his life, would be the sentiment that he was the most genuinely kind person in their lives.

Memorial services will be held at Noon on Friday, October 4th, 2019, at the Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA, 01844.  Visitation will be held on Friday 10:00am-12:00pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord-Merrimack County, 94 Silk Farm Rd, Concord, NH 03301.
