Kelly Jean Bowes McDonald passed away on May 31, 2019 at Saints Memorial Hospital, Lowell. Kelly was born in Lawrence and was educated in the Lawrence Public Schools. She graduated from the Greater Lawrence Technical School with the class of 1989. After a few years of being a cosmetologist, she spent many years as a mental health worker and residential manager caring for developmentally disabled adults. She was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots and also enjoyed camping and trips to the beach. Kelly loved butterflies. Her spirituality showed her strength and determination to persevere.
Her greatest passion was the love she had for her family and friends and spending time together is what she enjoyed the most.
Kelly was predeceased by her mother Elizabeth Berlan Anderson and her step-mother Christine Bean Bowes. Her family members include her husband, Devin McDonald of Lawrence and her daughter Jill Leary Schwering and her husband Jason of Ottowa, Canada. She also leaves her father Robert H. Bowes of Salem, NH and her step-son Todd Freeman and his wife Kourtney of Revere, MA. Kelly leaves 4 sisters, Phyllis Moody and her husband Glenn of Paris, TN, Christine Bowes Paolucci and her fiance Joseph Degaetano of Sandown, NH, Elizabeth Bowes and her fiancé Michael Little of Salem, NH and Michelle White and her husband Joseph of Mossup, CT. as well as 6 brothers Robert Bowes and his wife Deana of Derry, NH, James Bowes and his wife Kimberly of New York, Mark Bowes and his wife Nina of Sandown, NH, Scott Bean and his wife Dawn of El Paso, TX, Timothy Bean and his wife Kerry of Haverhill, MA and Warren Wiskwood and his wife Krista of Myrtle Beach, SC. Kelly also leaves her dearest friends Kathy Mendieta Carroll of Lawrence, MA, Jennifer Dilorenzo of Londonderry, NH and close friend Roger Gavin of Lowell, MA as well as an extended amount of Nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday June 15, 2019 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.
