Kathleen Bush Obituary

Kathleen "Kay" (Maguder) Bush passed away peacefully on June 14, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Kay, daughter of Frances and Frank Maguder, was born and lived her life in Lawrence, MA. After graduating from Lawrence High School, Kay and John Bush married, and celebrated 56 years of love, support, family and laughter before his passing in 2016.

Kay was a devout Catholic. Her deep faith was with her throughout life's joys and challenges. Kay was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence until it's closing, at which time she and her husband John joined Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, also in Lawrence. While a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church, Kay was very involved in supporting her church by volunteering her time.

Kay especially loved to travel. She never missed the chance to travel with her husband, children and grandchildren. Every trip was an adventure. Over the course of her life Kay went on many cruises, enjoyed frequent weekends in New York City, visited Disney with each of her 13 grandchildren and took the trip of her dreams when she and her husband John traveled to Poland and Lithuania. Kay also loved the ocean and over the years, she was equally happy to take a ride to or rent a cottage at Salisbury Beach with her family.

Kay was loved by all who knew her. She was special to her family and everyone who met her. She will always be remembered for her gentle kindness and endless patience. She was a living testament to the "pay it forward" motto and helped everyone and anyone in any way she could.

Above all else, Kay's greatest joy in life was her family. Kay and John were blessed with six children, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Kay loved her family unconditionally and was the best Babci ever. She rarely missed a graduation, birthday, recital, sport or school event of her grandchildren and each child knew how special they were. Kay's love and devotion was precious and will forever be felt and remembered by her family.

Kay was predeceased by her husband John. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Mary Beth and Tim Haggerty, Jo-Ann and Matt Morley, Caroline Chretien, Kathleen and Errol Zappala, John and Karen Bush, and Martha McGuire; her grandchildren Ashley and Robert Tarr, Juliana Morley, Samuel, Benjamin and Caleb Chretien, Ian and Olivia Zappala, John and Kasey Bush, and Meaghan, Matthew, and Madeline McGuire; great-granddaughter Sophia Perez; sister Dianne Kelley; loving and devoted sister-in-law Claudia Maguder; brothers-in-law Ralph and Paul Bush; Ralph's wife Muffy; and many nieces and nephews. Kay was also predeceased by her parents, Bobby and Chris Maguder, Barbara and Frank Dobson, and Leona Bush.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday June 19, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.
