Joseph H. McAlevey, 58, died Friday at Lawrence General Hospital.
Joseph was born in Lawrence to the late Joseph and Evelyn (DeSimone) McAlevey. He received his first masters degree from Rivier College, his second masters degree from Salem State College and received his Certification Of Advanced Studies from The University of New England. Joseph was employed as a special needs teacher at Methuen High School.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Thompson) McAlevey of Sandown. Also among his survivors are his daughter, Cayla McAlevey and her partner Tyler Dube of Manchester N.H., and his sons, Mathew McAlevey of Parrispany, N.J. and Christopher McAlevey of Sandown, N.H. Also among his survivors are his sister, Cynthia Anthony and her husband John of Fort Worth, Texas.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish/St. Augustine Church in Lawrence. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.
