Jose Padilla Rodriguez

Jose Padilla Rodriguez, 94 of Methuen passed away on Monday July 22, 2019 at Cedar View Healthcare Center, Methuen. Mr. Rodriguez was born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico and has lived in Methuen for the past 4 years.  Before retirement, Jose worked with the Puerto Rico Telephone Company.  He served with The US Army in Korea.  Jose loved nature. He especially cared for his chickens, roosters and horses.  He enjoyed Danza music and dancing.  Jose was a man of christian faith.  He was always very jolly and happy and loved playing practical jokes and having fun with his family and especially his grandchildren.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be greatly missed by his wife of 71 years, Celenia Ortiz Bobe and his sons, Jose A. Padilla and his wife Hilvania and Rene Padilla.  Jose also leaves 3 grandsons, 8 great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and many friends.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday July 25, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.  A prayer service will be on Thursday evening between 6pm and 7pm at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Friday July 26 at the funeral home.  Committal services with military honors will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.  To leave an online condolence, please visit Jose’s tribute page at www.dewhirstbolesfuneral.com.
