Helene M. (Bara) Patrick, 100, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Prescott House in North Andover.
The daughter of the late Stanley and Julia (Skowron) Bara, Helene was born in Lawrence on May 25, 1918. She was a graduate of Holy Trinity Grammar School, Lawrence High School, and Fugere’s Beauty School. She was employed as a hairdresser most of her life. She resided in Lawrence until 1954, moving to Linden, NJ for 25 years, and returning to Lawrence in 1979. After her return to Lawrence, she was a beautician with Greene’s Salon in Lawrence until her retirement. She attended the former Holy Trinity Church, until it’s closing, and later attended Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church. Helene enjoyed music and gardening. In observance of her 100th birthday, she was awarded a proclamation from the Commonwealth.
Helene was the wife of the late Vito J. Patrick, who died in 1997, and was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Julia Bara, and sisters, Irene S. Bara and Stella T. Bara.
Helene requested to extend her sincere thanks to her 2 longtime caregivers, Maria Persico and Cheryl Amodio.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to calling hours on Thursday, April 11, 2019, from 3:00 to 5:00pm at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 12, 2019, at 10:00am in Holy Rosary Church – Corpus Christi Parish, Essex St, Lawrence, followed by burial in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
