Helen M. Stevens, 97, of Lawrence, Mass., died peacefully in her home, Sunday, October 8, 2017. Helen was born and raised by her grandmother in Lawrence, Mass. As a young woman, Helen worked at the Arlington Mills as a member and she stayed there until the mill closed. During that time, she was very instrumental in providing quality clothing for personnel in the Armed Forces.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jack D. Stevens with whom she traveled extensively to Florida, as well as Las Vegas. During the summers, she and Jack also spent a lot of time in Ogunquit, Maine. After Jack’s death, Helen remained active and was noted for her sharp wit and her no-nonsense attitude. She was well read and could carry on discussions of a wide variety of topics. Although she had no children, she loved animals (especially dogs) and always had pets until her later years. Helen lived a wonderful life and will be deeply missed by her friends, Carol and Joseph Kaczor, Sister Pauline, and Rose, her in-home caretaker.
