George Hurst, Jr. Obituary

George Hurst, Jr., 74 of Lawrence passed away on Thursday June 13, 2019 at Sutton Hill Center, N. Andover.  Mr. Hurst was born and raised in Andover.  He was a graduate of Andover High School and served with the military police in the US Army.  Before retirement, George worked as a car detailer at Betley Chevrolet in Derry, NH. 

His family members include his beloved wife of 39 years, Else (Herbert) Hurst and his step-children, William Richter and his wife Ellen, Gail Bova and her husband Paul, Arthur Richter and his wife Ana and Pamela Jefferson and her husband David.  George also leaves his sisters Marlene Holmes, Donna McCann and his brother Craig Hurst as well as his sister-in-law Phoebe English and her husband John.  George also leaves grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and his devoted friend Ronald Whycoff.

George was a quiet, gentle soul.  He enjoyed watching football, playing cards, movies, trivia and his vacations to Canada.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday June, 20, 2019 from 3 pm to 6 pm at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.  The visiting hours will conclude with US Army Military honors at 6 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
