Frank J. Plantamura

Frank J. Plantamura passed away peacefully on Sunday March 4, 2018.

He was born in Lawrence on April 3, 1918 to Michele Plantamura and Francesca Bianchi.

He worked 34 years at Raytheon in Lowell.

Together, Frank and his wife Doris (Allain) Plantamura raised five children at their home on Lowell Street in Methuen. They lovingly opened their house to family, friends and neighbors; creating a place to gather where all were welcome. Frank’s quiet demeanor and strong faith guided him as the patriarch of the family. He was blessed to see his seven grandchildren grow up, spending time with them on family vacations, playing card games together and, most recently, dancing at his granddaughter’s wedding last June.

He lived a life surrounded by family. Frank devoted free time to his many hobbies: woodworking, gardening and photography. He is fondly remembered for his annual family portraits in front of the dining room window. Frank was a handyman, promptly tackling repairs and maintenance around the house and pool. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Raytheon Bowling League.

His family members include his wife of 62 years, Doris (Allain) Plantamura; his children and their spouses: Michael and Karyn of California, David and Cindy, Frank and Suzanne of North Carolina, Alan and Beth, and Angela and John DiZoglio; and his grandchildren: Lydia Plantamura, Genna Wells, Michael & Paul Plantamura, John, Eleana and Jessica DiZoglio.

Frank was predeceased by his six siblings: Joseph, Cecilia, Sr. Frances Michael, Americo, Arthur and Rose Perillo.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday March 9, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM at the Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish at St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth St., Methuen, MA.
