Francis S. "Junior" Preston, Jr.

April 26, 1940 ~ December 20, 2018 (age 78)

Francis S. “Junior” Preston, Jr., 78, of Atkinson, NH, formerly of Methuen, passed away peacefully at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on Thursday, December 20, 2018, with his loving family at his side.

The eldest son of the late Francis S. Preston, Sr., and Doris (Abbott) Preston, Francis was born in Goffstown, NH on April 26, 1940. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH. He was employed at Lawrence Maid Shoe Company as a shoecutter for 17 years, and later as a process engineer for Digital Company in Salem, NH for 25 years until his retirement. He was a Methuen resident for 50 years until moving to Atkinson, NH in 2017. Francis, in his younger years, was an avid hunter and fisherman. He later enjoyed woodworking, repairing cars, and camping with his family. He especially enjoyed being with his family. He was a very family-oriented person.

Francis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Frances Stella (Thibodeau) Preston of Atkinson, NH; A son and his wife, Robert F. Preston and Stacy Preston of Atkinson, NH; A daughter and her husband, Patricia A. and Michal Denuzzio of Methuen; 2 grandsons, Jacob Preston and Jared Preston of Atkinson; His siblings, Gloria Dike of Sacramento, CA, Donald Preston of Methuen, and Richard Preston of Laconia, NH, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Francis was predeceased by his siblings, Robert Preston, Arleen Palmer, Bruce Preston, James Preston and Natalie Dinsmore.

The family would like to thank all doctors, nurses and caregivers for the excellent and kind care given to Francis.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, December 26, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
