Frances W. Martineau, 88 of Salem, NH passed away on Friday July 28, 2017 at Greystone Farm, Salem.  Mrs. Martineau was born, raised and educated in Lawrence and lived in Lawrence all of her life before moving to Salem 3 years ago.  Frances worked as a telephone operator for many years and more recently, she worked at Market Basket and the former Empire Shop both of Lawrence.  She loved being with her family.  Frances had a wonderful heart and was always doing something for someone.

The widow of Rene J. Martineau, her family members include her son, Joseph J. and his wife, Kim Martineau of Salem, NH and her daughter, M. Lucy Martineau of Huntersville, NC.  Frances also leaves her sister, Joan Foley of Derry, NH and her granddaughter, Connor Brown of Boston as well as her brother-in-law, Paul and his wife, Evelyn Martineau of Andover and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Brown.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday August 1, 2017 from 4pm to 7pm at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday August 2 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish at St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth St., Methuen, MA. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover.
