Eleanor R. Murphy

 Eleanor R. Murphy, 79, wife, mother, grandmother and a dear friend to so many, sadly passed away unexpectedly, May 14, 2019 in Haverhill, MA.

Eleanor was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Joseph & Helen Egan.  While a Brooklyn girl at heart, she called Lawrence, MA her home for 53 years before moving to Haverhill.  She and her beloved late husband John A. Murphy were both so proud of their son John J. Murphy who shares his loss with his wife Kathryn (Pugh) and her precious granddaughter Gillian. She is also survived by her sister Elizabeth(Egan) Walker, her niece Christine and husband Douglas Veselsky with their children Kaelyn and Danny of Independence, KY, and nephew Robert Walker of Hamilton, OH.

Her tales about a life well lived will be missed along with her laughter and kindness. Eleanor enjoyed her many years of volunteering at the Bruce Elementary School in Lawrence, MA.  Eleanor had a zest for life and in her retirement, continued to enjoy reading, traveling, caring for her furry friends and being an avid Disney and New England Patriots fan.  She treasured time spent with her friends near and far.  The love of her family and being Gillian’s Nana were by far her greatest joys in life.
