Edward J. Harb, 95 of Methuen and Holiday, Florida passed away on Saturday May 27, 2017 at Gulfside Center for Hospice Care at Heather Hill, New Port Richey, FL. Mr. Harb was born and raised in Lawrence. He attended Lawrence High School and Haverhill Trade School. Ed worked at American Woolen Mills, the Ayer Mills of Lawrence and Pope Machinery of Haverhill. He retired after 30 years of service as a letter carrier with The US Postal Service in Lawrence. He was a member of St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, Lawrence and a member and past secretary and treasurer of NALC, Branch 212, Lawrence, MA. Ed served with The US Army during WWII and was the recipient of The Bronze Star and The Purple Heart. He was a life member of Methuen Post VFW Post 8349 as well as a member of The DAV, Queen City Chapter # 2 of Lawrence. He was a member of the Slips and Clutches square dance club of Methuen and a member of The American Lebanese Awareness Society of Lawrence.
His family members include his wife, Ann M. (Raciti) Harb of Methuen and his sons, Thomas M. Harb and his significant other, Michele Labrecque of Quincy, MA, David R. Harb of Haverhill and Richard J. and his wife, Robyn Harb of Middleton, MA. He also leaves his grandchildren, Ryan, Keith, Jarrod, Kaila, Krystle and Jonathan and 3 great grandchildren, Isabella, Emma and Keira as well as his sister, Louise Abdulla of Lawrence and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday June 5, 2017 from 9:30am to 11:30am at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be on Monday June 5 at Noon in St. Anthony Church, 145 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Methuen.
