Dorothy E. (Brown) Nelson

Dorothy E. (Brown) Nelson, 97, of Windham (formerly Methuen), passed away on Tuesday December 17, 2019 at the Windham Terrace in Windham.
Dorothy was born in Haverhill, MA to William H. Brown and Agusta (Spohr) Brown. She attended Methuen schools and then graduated from Searles High school. Dorothy worked at Cherry & Webb in Lawrence, MA followed by Sportique in Salem, NH. In her free time, Dorothy enjoyed knitting, reading, and spending time with her family.
Dorothy is predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Donald I. Nelson, her four children, Donna Wicks and her husband Lloyd of Flagler Beach, FL, Daniel W. Nelson and his wife Terry of Wentworth, NH, Dawn Toothaker and her husband Richard of Salem, NH and Daralyn Melone and her husband William of Londonderry, NH, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy is predeceased by a brother, William Brown and granddaughter Cynthia Monahan. She is survived by her sister in laws Carolyn Gill and Bernice Moore.
Friends are invited to call from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday, December 21st at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 PM in the funeral home chapel.
