David “Dizz” DiZoglio of Ashland, NH died Friday, September 27, 2019 at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, NH after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Lawrence, MA; David is the son of Joseph L. DiZoglio, Sr. and the late Diane L. (Blanchard) DiZoglio. David was a graduate of Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational Technical High School, class of 1974 and served on the Lawrence Fire Department from 1987 until his retirement in 2008.
David was happiest at his home on Squam Lake. Like his surroundings, David learned to live life much the same as nature. A beautiful sunrise kept him in the present moment. The cycles of good health and sickness resembled the changing seasons. Quiet times of inner reflection, mirroring the water of Squam Lake. There were stormy times too, when the cancer returned. Friends and family would wander through his life much like the deer, elk and bears that would pass through his yard. David loved each and every one of them in his own way. The wind and warm sun against his face was celebrated while boating and riding in the Z. David's laughter and his booming storytelling voice was a force equivalent of a sudden thunderstorm rolling through the valley. His dog Bella was his constant companion on these adventures of life. David will surely reunite with his mom and his dog, Dana, as his journey continues.
David is survived by his father Joseph L. DiZoglio, Sr. and Helen Perveri of Peabody, MA. His sister, Dawn Brazeau, of Dracut her husband Robert and nephews Joel and Jordan Brazeau. His brother Joseph L. (Jay) DiZoglio, Jr. of Colorado and nephew, Michael DiZoglio. David also leaves his children Angela and Vincent DiZoglio.
He will be sadly missed by his brother firefighters, William Pagan, Claudio Troncoso, Joe Ramos, Manuel (Manny) Guiterrez, Rodrigo (Rod) Giraldo and the brothers from the Lawrence Fire Department Local #146.
We would also like to thank Allison Thatcher for caring for David during his illness.
Visitation will be Monday, September 30 at the Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA from 4 to 8 pm. A prayer service will take place at 7:30 pm.
