Blanche A. (Levesque) Grassello

Blanche A. (Levesque) Grassello, 94, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Ouellette) Levesque, Blanche was born in Lawrence on October 23, 1924. She was educated in Lawrence schools. She was employed in the local textile mills and retired as a supervisor at Loren Products of Lawrence. She was a faithful attendant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish – St. Theresa’s Church. She was a volunteer at the thrift shop at the Methuen Activities Center on Tuesday afternoons. Blanche enjoyed sewing, searchword puzzles, playing cards, and was a faithful, daily newspaper reader. She especially enjoyed visiting her grandchildren.

The wife of the late Joseph Grassello, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage until his passing in 2009, Blanche is survived by her three children; Donna Edgell and her husband Stephen of Louisville, KY, Brenda Grassello of Methuen, and Joseph D. Grassello and his wife Melinda of Littleton, CO; 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Amanda Grassello; Many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; A sister, Marie Barry and her husband John of Hampstead, NH.

Blanche was predeceased by her siblings, Arthur Levesque, Jeannette Olivier, Aurore Vaudrieuil, Emile Levesque, Gerard Levesque, Edmond Levesque, Irene Piliponis, Pauline Levesque, Cecile Turcotte, and Raymond Levesque.

Blanche’s family sincerely thanks the entire staff and all caregivers at Holy Family Hospital, Nevins Nursing & Rehab Center, and High Pointe House for the wonderful care given to Blanche at these facilities.

Relatives & friends are cordially invited to calling hours on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 10:00am in St. Theresa’s Church – Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen. Entombment will follow in the St. Mary’s – Immaculate Conception Mausoleum, Lawrence.
