Bernadette C. Tremblay, age 93, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2018 at Merrimack Valley Hospice’s High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA, with family by her side.
Bernadette was born in Lawrence on July 31, 1924 to the late Ulysse Tremblay and Valerie (Dubreuil) Tremblay.
She was predeceased by her brothers Edward, Richard and Emile Tremblay and her sisters Beatrice Sutton, Terry Depelteau, and Lorraine Tremblay. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Bernadette was a lifelong resident of Lawrence and she graduated from Sacred Heart High School. As a young woman, Bernadette worked in the Lawrence Mills, however, most of her working career was spent at the Western Electric Company (Lucent Technologies) in North Andover where she worked as an Assembler in Electronics for over 25 years.
Bernadette chose to remain single during her lifetime. She dedicated herself to taking care of her father until his death in 1978. Their house was frequently the center of large family dinners and the destination for many Canadian relatives.
Bernadette was always a Red Sox and Patriots fan. In her younger years she liked dancing and going to the beach. She also enjoyed many trips to Canada and New York City. In more recent years, Bernadette lived with her nieces Linda Depelteau of Lawrence and Audrey Depelteau of Johnson City, TN. She enjoyed walking, birdwatching, and going out to dinner. She especially liked road trips to Maine, the White Mountains, and Nashville, TN.
A Funeral Mass will be held for Bernadette at Saint Patrick’s Church, 118 So. Broadway, Lawrence, MA on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM.
