Barbara Skinner, 93, passed away Saturday morning June 17, at High Point House in Haverhill, MA.

 Born in 1923, in Derry, NH, Barbara had six sisters and resided in Lawrence, MA for many years. She was an R.N. and a U.S. Army Veteran who earned the rank of Second Lieutenant when she served in the Philippines during World War II. She was an amazing woman and devoted mother who loved animals and enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting. Barbara spent her life helping others, rescuing and caring for animals, and volunteering. She volunteered at the Methuen Senior Center and served as the gift store manager there until a month before she died. She was also a member of the Prayer Shawl Group at First Church Congregational in Methuen. Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

 The widow of Robert Skinner, her family members include her daughter, Gail,  her son Robert , her son-in-law, Dennis,  and her daughter-in law, Regina.  Barbara also leaves her sisters Doris , Marion , and Beverly and many nieces and nephews. Her sisters Marjorie, Shirley and Louise predecease her.

 Memorial Gifts may be made to The Methuen MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844, or the Methuen Senior Center.

 A private memorial service will be held for family members on July 7th.
