Arline J. Earnshaw

Arline J. Earnshaw, a longtime resident of Methuen and recently of the Cedarview Health Center, passed away on Friday evening, February 1, 2019.

Mrs. Earnshaw was born on April 11, 1922 in Methuen MA to Charles and Lillian (Butterworth) Fraser. She went to Methuen Schools and graduated from Searles High School in 1940. On Thanksgiving Day 1942 she was married to Frederick W. Earnshaw with whom she enjoyed 50 years of marriage until his passing on their 50th anniversary.

She retired after 30 years from Western Electric/Lucent Technologies.

Arline enjoyed square dancing with her husband and spending time with her family. She and her late friend Stella Tokowicz were always together and enjoyed many laughs. She was an avid reader, crocheter and lover of all cats. She was active in the Methuen Senior Center and never missed her weekly hair appointment.  Her family was always at her house for Sunday dinner and knew not to miss it.

She was the proud mother of twin boys Frederick and David and daughter Sherrill Earnshaw Hart, loving grandmother to Meg Brancato Yurkus, Michael Garvey and Lynn Earnshaw Greaves and seven great grandchildren including Wayne Janvrin, who predeceased her.

 Her family members include her brother Donald Fraser and his wife Beryl, of Andover and her twin sons Frederick and his wife Julie of E. Kingston, NH, David and his wife Marie of Methuen, and her daughter Sherrill and her husband Michael Hart of Kingston, Ontario.  She will be dearly missed by her much adored grandchildren Lyn Greaves, Jane Margaret (Meg) and Michael and their spouses and great grandchildren Rowen, Colleen, Isabella, Gabriella, Sophia  and Emily as well her close friend and sister-in-law Gertrude Earnshaw and her family, her brother in law Edward of Plaistow, NH and his family and the extended Earnshaw family members.

The Earnshaw family would like to thank the staff at Cedarview for their kindness and caring over the last few years.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday February 6, 2019 from 4pm to 7pm at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.  A Funeral Mass will be on Thursday February 7 at 11:00 am in St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
