Annette Beauchesne Obituary

Annette I. (Dubois) Beauchesne, 96, passed away peacefully at her home in Methuen on Saturday, June 29, 2019.  She was born in Lawrence on July 19, 1922 to Henry Dubois and Lucina (Ouellette) Dubois and lived in Lawrence and Methuen, graduating from Methuen's Searles High School in 1939.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Diane L. Beauchesne of Methuen, her son, James F. Beauchesne of Arlington, MA and  his wife Beimei Long and their son, Siping Guo, of Austin, TX.  She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Henry A. Beauchesne, and their son Paul H. Beauchesne.

Anne was one of 17 children of the Dubois family of Methuen.  Her surviving siblings are sisters Cecile Bourassa, Jeanne LaTulippe, Rose Michaud, Gertrude Iannazzi, Bernadette Carney, Marcelle Thompson, Madeleine Giroux, brothers Leo Dubois and Henry Dubois, and sister-in-law Eileen Dubois.  Annette was predeceased by sisters Theresa Burbine and Pauline Zolubos, and by brothers Lucien, Charles, Alexander, Gerard, and Joseph Dubois.

After marrying Henry in 1948, she also enjoyed the companionship of her Beauchesne in-laws, the late Raymond and Theresa Beauchesne, Wilfred and Muriel Rochon, and Sr. Lucille Beauchesne, S.C.I.M.

Her numerous beloved nieces and nephews include god-children Sheila Dubois, Louise (Dubois) Mallory, Dean Zolubos, and the late Nancy (LaTulippe) White.  Anne enjoyed many family parties and gatherings, such as card parties with all her sisters, brothers and in-laws and multi-generation get-togethers with all 60+ nieces and nephews, and eventually their children.

In addition to being a devoted homemaker, wife and mom, Annette worked outside the house for most of her adult life, culminating in a 17-year career as a tax examiner at the IRS in Andover.  Not surprisingly she also served as the family bookkeeper and historian.  In her retirement she enjoyed travel, square-dancing and was a skilled player of Scrabble, crossword puzzles and other word games.  In later life she received tender support from caregivers Celina Sarao and Linda Benoit.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday July 5, 2019 from 9 am to 11 am at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.  A Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 11:30 am on Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish at St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth St., Methuen, Ma 01844.
