Irene Leduc Obituary

Irene M. (Boucher) Leduc – Salem, NH

Irene M. (Boucher) Leduc 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Salem NH on February 20, 2024. Irene was born on Jan 5, 1948 to Perley and Mary (Seria) Boucher in Lawrence MA at the Clover Hill Hospital. She attended Lawrence High School and lived the majority of her life in the City of Lawrence.  Irene enjoyed being a "lunch lady" at the Bruce School in the Tower Hill section of Lawrence, while her children attended. Irene then worked second shift at Analog Devices in Wilmington, MA for 28 years until retirement nine years ago.

Irene was a friendly outgoing person who enjoyed her family & friends especially on birthdays, holidays and other special occasions. She was always there early. Some of her favorite things to enjoy in life were finding a bargain, collecting beanie babies, camping, playing Uno, doing word search puzzles, never winning Bingo at the senior center, her Christmas tradition of going to her nieces house to play Bingo for scratch tickets with Perley, Patricia and Lily, talking on the phone (especially her Tuesday night calls to Missouri), trips to see her kids, enjoying a nice cold beer or iced coffee, and even a KISS concert. She had a sweet tooth for cookies and would never pass up a Crispelli! The best quirky things about her were: her candid smile (while looking the other way in a photograph), her wit and banter with love, her huge eye rolls, the "Oh wow!" with excitement response, her use of words she often mispronounced and her ease to go with the flow.

Most importantly, she was proud of her four independent, go-getting children that she raised, allowing them to be themselves.

Irene was predeceased by her parents Perley and Mary. She is survived by her husband James Newman of Salem NH, her brother Perley Boucher of Florida, her daughter Shelley Leduc of Reeds Spring Missouri, daughter Tina Leduc and her partner Karen of Manteca California, her son Scott Leduc and his wife Heidi of Danville NH, and her golden child (LOL), Wayne Leduc and his fiancé Alicia of North Andover MA. Nine grandchildren: Marlin and McKenna; Emily and Nicole; Jonathan, Kayla and Zachary; and Kylee and Owen. Irene also has six great-grandchildren as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. A special niece, Patricia Boucher, who helped care for Irene in her final weeks when she needed it the most. Patricia will always have a special place in Irene’s heart and ours for her unconditional love.

All will miss her deeply and will remember her forever in their own special way. We are comforted knowing she is at peace now and has gone home to God.
