Jerome P. Berube, 90, of Lawrence, passed away on Wednesday February 29, 2012 at the Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover.
Jerome was born in Lawrence, where he attended Lawrence public schools. He retired from Malden Mills and was a lifelong resident of the greater Lawrence area. He enjoyed the music of the Big Band era and was a member of the ILGWU local 311.
He is survived by his daughter Brenda Schmidt, and her husband Klaus, of Live Oak, Florida, his sons Paul Berube, of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Stevan Berube and his wife Sharon, of Sandwich, Massachusetts. He leaves four granddaughters Stacey and her husband Joseph Donovan, Shayna and her husband Marc Campiola, Shelley Berube of Sandwich, Massachusetts, and Sheila and her husband James Blanchette of Haverhill, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his brother Norman and his wife Sonia Berube of Haverhill, and his sister Mettie Tanguay, of Manchester, New Hampshire, and six great grandchildren Daniel, Nathan, Eli, Elizabeth Donovan, Anthony, and Rocco Campiola, and nieces and nephews.
He leaves his family of dedicated caregivers and dear friends at the German Home, in Lawrence, where he lived for the past fifteen years.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 4th at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Lawrence. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover.
