Wesley McKay Babbitt, 64 of Lawrence, MA passed away Monday February 20, 2017 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Worcester, MA the son of the late Wesley Aldrich and Shirley Eva (McKay) Babbitt.  He graduated from Thames Valley State Technical College and pursued a career in the electrical field retiring from Raytheon Co. in 2014 as a group leader over the electronic technicians after 41 years of service. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local 1505. Wesley retired from the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary in December of 2015 having been a member of Flotilla 525 in Medford, MA for 17 years. He was also an active Freemason being a member of Lawrence United Lodge, A.F. & A.M. as well as the York Rite, Scottish Rite, Order of the Amaranth, Order of the Eastern Star, Shriner and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as with his loyal Main Coon cat, Solstice. In addition his hobbies included genealogy, playing chess, bowling, photography, building models but most of all, he had a great love of music specifically playing guitar. One of his proudest moments was having placed as second best musician in the Battle of the Bands in 1983.

Wesley is survived by his true love, his wife, Patricia Ann (Wilde) and their sons, Wesley Wilde Babbitt and Geoffrey Winslow Babbitt I. his brother, Wayne H., sister-in-law, Deborah and their children, Wayne N., Paul, Philip, Shaniece and Alexander of Webster, MA. He also leaves his great uncle and aunt, George and Jane McKay and their family of Webster, MA.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday February 24, 2017 from 1 to 3 pm at First Calvary Baptist Church, 586 Massachusetts Avenue, N. Andover, MA.  Masonic services will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Friday at the church and the funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Free Hospital Equipment Loan Program, SMD-HELP Foundation, Inc., 3 Fairhaven Street, N. Reading, MA 01864.  Arrangements are by The Charles F.
