Sheila McCartney Obituary

Sheila E. McCartney, 88, of Chester, NH died on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Catholic Medical Center Manchester, NH.

Born and raised in Lowell, MA, Sheila was the daughter of Daniel J. and Esther C. (Ganley) Wrenn.  Sheila married and moved to Lawrence MA where she and her husband John raised their 11 children.  Sheila worked at the Warner Theatre then Treat Hardware for 25 years before retiring.  Sheila was an avid reader, making weekly trips to the library to withdraw 3 to 4 books at a time. Another favorite pastime was reading the newspaper; she would often share her opinion on current matters in the sound-off column! Sheila was a devoted Catholic, attending Holy Rosary Church (now Corpus Christi), and raised her children in the Catholic faith.  Sheila also attended faith based teachings offered by her Church.  Sheila most enjoyed vacationing with her children and grandchildren and was able to visit many places across the United States.  Disney World was a favorite destination where even as a senior citizen, she still loved the thrill of a roller coaster!

Sheila was pre-deceased by her parents, her brother Gerald Wrenn, her two sisters, Anna Linehan, and Mary Adie, her husband John, and sons Daniel and Michael.

Sheila leaves behind her sons John, (Jack) and his wife Linda, Richard and his wife Joanne, David, Paul and his wife Rhoda, Edward and his wife Judy, Steven and his wife Diana, and daughters Kathleen and her husband Robert Camasso, Mary, Maureen and her husband Tony Mason,  her sister in law Rita Wrenn,  19 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Sheila’s was truly a life well lived and she was grateful to God for a full, blessed life.  She was adored by her children and she will be sorely missed by all.
