Ruth Kiessling Obituary

Ruth E. (Rausch) Kiessling, age 90, passed to her new life on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at her residence in Methuen with her children by her side.

She was the beloved wife of the late Richard T. Kiessling with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to the late Paul Kiessling and sadly leaves behind her son, John Kiessling, daughter Christina (Tina) and her husband Joseph Andrews, and daughter Amy Sardella and her partner Robert Zinnershine.

Ruth’s life revolved around family, including her ten grandchildren who gave her so much love that she often said she was truly blessed. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she formerly served as a church council member as well as president of the Lutheran Church Women’s Group.  She was an accomplished singer and longtime church choir member and soloist.  Besides her talent in music, Ruth was adept in cooking, decorating her home and hosting parties for her friends and family. She enjoyed reading, dining out, traveling with her husband, vacationing at the lake and beach and spending time at home and by her pool.

Ruth attended Lawrence High School and was an instrumental member of her 1945 class reunion committee. She thoroughly enjoyed planning and entertaining at these events. She was known as a happy person, always with a smile and sense of humor making her popular among her many friends.

Ruth leaves her grandchildren and their spouses, Erica and Ryan Monat, Michael and Heysel Andrews, David and Whitney Andrews, Lauren and Scott Corey, Mark Andrews, Matthew Andrews and his finance Kym Pelletier, James and Jennifer Kiessling, Gretchen and Michael Shaw, Adam Sardella and Brooke Sardella along with nieces and nephews and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her dear sister Anita Dinning of Lawrence and sister-in-law Henrietta (Helen) Stoebel and cousin Marilyn Blaser of Methuen.
