Ruth Gallant, 72 of Methuen, passed away on Friday, October 6th, 2017 at the Lawrence General Hospital.

Ruth was born in Lawrence, MA on September 29, 1945 to Armand Emile and Mary Rita Nault. A lifelong resident of Methuen, MA, Ruth attended Methuen Public Schools, graduating from Tenney High School Class of 1964. She received her Associates Degree in Electrical Design Engineering from Northern Essex Community College.

Ruth was silly, stubborn, quirky, compassionate, kind, caring, flawed and beautifully human. She was a true people person. She was best known as "Mammy", a loving mother, grandmother, wife, stepmother, sister, daughter, aunty, neighbor, and a true friend. Family meant everything to her. She beamed with pride as she regularly bragged about every one of her children and grandchildren. She leave behind a legacy any woman would aspire to accomplish. She was graced with an artist's hand and crafty nature, having sold many of her custom crafts at local craft fairs. Disney World was her favorite place on Earth.

She is survived by her husband Robert A. Hill, Sr. of Methuen, MA; her daughter Samantha Berard of Methuen; her son Michael Gallant and his husband Jeffrey Lyford of Mokena, IL; her daughter Kathy Rouleau and her husband David Rouleau of Danville, NH; her son Jeffrey Gallant and his wife Cari of Beaufort, SC; her daughter Rita Gallant of Fort Stewart, GA; her daughter Alexis Coles-Emerson and her husband Warren Emerson of Middleborough, MA; her brother Richard Allen Nault and his wife Christine of Laconia, NH; her grandchildren, stepchildren, nieces and nephews. Ruth was blessed with a large and extended family.

She was predeceased by her father Armand Emile Nault, her mother Mary Rita Blackden, her stepfather Carroll Blackden, and her infant son Armand Allen Nault.
