Ruth L. Bume, 99, of Lawrence, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Mary Immaculate Restorative Center in Lawrence.

Born in Lawrence, Ruth was the daughter of John and Hedwig (Oeser) Montgomery. She was raised and educated in Lawrence, and was a lifelong resident of the city. She had been employed with the Internal Revenue Service prior to her retirement. Ruth enjoyed watching Red Sox Games.

She was the widow of Frederick Bume, and mother of the late Dorothy Murdock.

Ruth leaves her beloved great granddaughter Olivia of Lawrence MA, and her beloved friend and caretaker Peter Giannini of Bradford, MA.

Friends and family may call Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 9:30 AM to 11 AM at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA. A funeral service will be held on at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence MA.
