Robert H. Webber, Sr., 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2018, with his devoted family at his side, after a lengthy struggle with cancer.

The son of Evelyn (Southwell) Webber and the late William Webber, Bob was born in Amesbury, MA on September 16, 1947.  He attended Amesbury schools and was a graduate of Amesbury High School, Class of 1965.  He furthered his education at Worcester Polytechnical Institute and Merrimack College.  He started his career at Triad Engineering in Burlington, MA in developing the circuit board of the original "Pong" video game.  With his love of Super-Modified auto racing, Bob purchased Star Speedway in Epping, NH in 1980 and later purchased Hudson Speedway in Hudson, NH in 1989. He received much recognition and many awards from his auto racing peers.  The highlight of Bob's life was his two grandchildren Timmy and Jaime.  Bob also enjoyed spending his winters in Aruba, where he was well-known and very active in the community.  At Star Speedway and Hudson Speedway, Bob treated every racer as part of his extended family.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jeanne A. (Croteau) Webber of Epping, NH; a son, Robert H. Webber, Jr. and his daughter-in-law Jennifer of Topsfield, MA; his two grandchildren, Timothy Webber and Jaime Webber of Topsfield, MA; his mother, Evelyn Webber of Newburyport, MA; a sister, Anita Faye Rossi of East Boston, MA; and several nieces and nephews.  Bob was predeceased by his brother, Paul Webber of Rowley, MA.
