Linda S. Durkin, 62 of Andover died on Tuesday September 8, 2015 at Holy Family Hospital.  Linda was born in Methuen and was raised and educated in Andover.  She has lived in Andover all of her life. Before retirement, she worked for 35 years at The IRS, Andover. Linda was a member of St. Augustine Parish, Andover.

The daughter of the late, Paul F. and Marie M. (Dill) Apitz, her family members include her sister, Phyllis P. and her husband, Brian Winters of Andover and her brothers, Paul F. Apitz, of Dracut, James A. and his wife, Mary Apitz of Methuen, Scott D. Apitz of Andover and Dana A. and his wife, Tammy Apitz of N. Andover.  She also leaves 12 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and great nephews and her best friend, Susan Incropera of Methuen and her dear cousin, Pauline Vines of N. Reading.

There are no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Thursday September 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex St., Andover. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN., 38105.
