Joseph P. Lambert, 72, of Methuen died on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at Saints Memorial Hospital, Lowell.  Mr. Lambert was born in Lawrence a twin to his brother John. He was raised in Methuen, one of 16 children of George and Mary (Thompson) Lambert, Joe was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and served in The US Navy for 41/2 years and during his last year, aboard The USS Koelsch, DE 1049 with his brother, John.  He worked at numerous jobs; but, primarily worked as a cloth finisher at Malden Mills.  Joe was a member of St. Mary’s CHI-RHO and a life member of The Point After Club.  He was a member of The Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing Chess and crocheting afghans for family and friends.  He was also a member of The Veterans Community Care Center of Lowell. Fondly known as Mr. Methuen Village, he had a passion for writing short stories and poetry and would often send thoughtful cards to fellow residents.

His family members include his son, David Lambert of Maryland and his brothers, Peter Lambert of Methuen, James and his wife, Alana Lambert of Haverhill, Michael and his wife, Diane Lambert of Salem, NH and Tom and his wife, Linda Lambert of Haverhill.  Joe also leaves his sisters, Mary Weber of Methuen, Patricia and her husband, Rudy Parent of Salem, NH, Ann Lambert of Lawrence, Eileen Ricci of New Hampshire, Elizabeth and her husband, Thomas Tine of Salem, NH, Cynthia and her husband, Kevin Linehan Salem, NH and Jacqueline and her husband, Charles Berube of Methuen.  Joe leaves his sisters-in-law, Sandra Lambert of Lawrence and Norma Lambert of Methuen as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was pre-deceased by his brothers, George, John and David.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday May 27, 2015 from 5 to 8 PM at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. US Navy Military Honors will be conducted at 8PM on Monday prior to the conclusion of calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday May 28 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Council Parish at St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth St., Methuen, MA.
