Welcome to the memorial page for

John J. Bush

November 20, 1938 ~ April 10, 2016 (age 77) 77 Years Old

John J. Bush passed peacefully to be with his Lord on April 10, 2016 surrounded by his loving wife and family.

John, son of Victor and Blanche Bush, was born and lived most of his life in Lawrence MA. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and Northern Essex Community College, and worked for the telephone company until his retirement in 1996.

John was a man of great faith. He was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence until it's closing, at which time he and his wife Kathleen joined Corpus Christi Church, also in Lawrence. While a parishioner at Sacred Heart John was very involved in CCD, CYO, and the church's advisory council.

John and Kathleen loved to travel and went on many cruises and trips abroad. John had a passion for the ocean, sailing and his Lithuanian heritage. On their last trip abroad, John and Kathleen visited Lithuania and Poland.

John was loved by all who knew and met him.

Above all else, John's greatest joy in his life was his family. John and Kathleen were blessed with six children, and he was Dziadziu to 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. John loved his family unconditionally and was our very own teddy bear who gave the best hugs. John was and always will be our superhero - strong, gracious, kind, loving and generous. John's love for his family is precious and knows no boundaries, even in death.

John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen (Maguder); his children and their spouses, Mary Beth and Tim Haggerty, Jo-Ann and Matt Morley, Caroline Chretien, Kathleen and Errol Zappala, John and Karen Bush, and Martha McGuire; his grandchildren Ashley and Robert Tarr, Juliana Morley, Samuel, Benjamin and Caleb Chretien, Ian and Olivia Zappala, John and Kasey Bush, and Meaghan, Matthew and Madeline McGuire; greatgrandaughter, Sophia Perez; his brothers and best friends Ralph and Paul Bush; Ralph's wife Muffy; sisters-in-law Dianne Kelley and Claudia Maguder; brother-in-law Frank Dobson; nieces and nephews; and former son-in-law James Chretien. John was predeceased by his parents, Leona Bush, Bob and Chris Maguder, and Barbara Dobson.
