George E. Kenyon, 83 of Methuen MA passed away peacefully on December 22, 2017 with his loving family at his side. George was born in Methuen to the late George D. and Edna (Richardson) Kenyon and remained a lifelong resident of Methuen raising his family there.

After graduating from Searles High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. George was a truck driver for almost 40 years. He was also a lifelong member of the Methuen Rod and Gun Club. George had a talent working with his hands and after retirement did many remodeling projects for family and friends. George had a great love of all animals, especially birds and his devoted little dog Derek.

George was predeceased by his loving wife Carol J (Riddle) Kenyon. He was a special brother in law to all of his and Carols sisters, brothers and spouses. George also had many wonderful nieces and nephews that were part of the extended Riddle and Kenyon families. He is also survived by his loving sisters Ruth Servant of Hudson NH and Shirley Van Vliet of Nashua NH. George is survived by 3 daughters and their families, Tracy and Stanely Stopyra of Methuen, Kelly and William Loyd of Fremont NH and Carrie and Michael Emond of Dracut. George was a very special “Grampy” to his six grandchildren Anson Loyd, Andrew Emond, Erich Stopyra, Daniel Emond, Chloe Stopyra and Cole Loyd.

Family and friends are asked to assemble on Wednesday January 3, 2018 for an 11 AM funeral service at Forest Street Union Church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery also in Methuen. Family and friends may call on Tuesday January 2, 2018 from 3-7 PM at the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home 80 Broadway Methuen.
