Douglas Francis Bolduc Sr., 83, passed away peacefully Saturday May 14th, reunited with his beautiful wife Elizabeth (Betty) and cherished daughter Theresa Morissette in Glory with Jesus Christ. He lived his life with an innocence and joy that was infectious to all those around him.

Doug always wanted and prayed for a large family and his prayers were answered. He leaves behind 7 children, 26 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. His children from Methuen: daughter, Mary Ann (Bolduc) Boucher, her husband David, their children, Hillary, her husband Joel Brain, and their children, Solomon, Kael, and Nila; Marc, his wife Kristina, Eric, and his wife Hannah and daughter Penelope; Son, Paul Bolduc, his wife Christine, and their children, Thomas, Samuel, Anna and Faith; son Michael Bolduc, his wife Jackie, and their children, Jill, Benjamin, and Michael; son Andrew Bolduc, his wife Ann Marie, and their children, Kevin, AJ, Matthew and Joseph; From Dracut, his son-in-law Glenn Morissette and children, Julie, Erin, Katherine and Brian; His son from Salem N.H., Martin Bolduc, his wife Christine, and their children, Samantha, Ryan and Danielle; His son from Woburn, Douglas Bolduc Jr. and his daughters, Michelle and Melissa; His son from Whitinsville, Matthew Bolduc, his wife Sharon, and their children; Kelly Bernard, children Vanessa and Nicholas, son Shawn Bernard and his wife Katherine, and daughter Jenifer, her husband Jason Chipman and their daughters, Makayla and Lauren; Including Helen Gadomski, who is like a daughter to him. He is also pre-deceased by his brother Joseph Bolduc.

Born in Lawrence, the son of Reno and Lauretta (Hamel) Bolduc, Doug graduated from Lawrence High School Class of 1948. A four year veteran of the United States Air Force, he proudly served overseas during the Korean War with the 764th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron. Upon returning home, his mother introduced him to Betty and they married in 1956. He is fondly remembered by many along his mail route as the friendly, singing letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 32 years, retiring in 1988. He also served the entire community by volunteering his time in many ways. He was an active member of Our Lady of Good Council Parish, Saint Basil’s Cursillo movement and prison ministry. Also, as a frequent visitor to local nursing homes, “Dougie” was affectionately known by all of the residents. He served on the Board of Directors at The Nevin’s Nursing Home for many years.

Music was a large part of his life. He loved to sing and wrote and recorded two songs that were used by the March of Dimes for fundraising campaigns. An avid sports fan from professional to youth, he could be seen at various ball fields across the Merrimack Valley. Doug's skills as a handyman were legendary.

The family would like to thank all of Doug’s friends, relatives, and the community for their thoughts and prayers. Although Parkinson’s disease may have slowed him down in his later years, his genuine smile and big hugs raised the spirits of anyone he encountered. When asked how he would like to be remembered he replied; “Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior”.

The family would also like to express special thanks to the staff at The Meadows at Edgewood in North Andover for their authentic concern and care for our Father as well as the entire family. Additional appreciation to Doug’s nephew Paul Fox for his helpful presence and comfort.
