Dorothy H. Joerg, 93, of Lawrence passed away on Thursday December 22, 2016 at Sutton Hill Nursing Center, N. Andover.  Mrs. Joerg was born and raised in Methuen and was a 1941 graduate of Edward F. Searles High School and a graduate of Burdett College, Boston.  For over 37 years, Dorothy worked as a mortgage officer at First Essex Savings Bank, Lawrence.  Dot was a lifelong active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lawrence where she served as church secretary and a member of the church council.  She was an avid bowler and bowled with The First Essex Bowling Association.  She was an avid reader and especially loved vacations at the beach.

The widow of Robert L. Higgins and Herbert F. Joerg, her family members include her daughter, Linda L. and her husband, Alphonse Padvaiskas of Lawrence and her sister, Carolyn M. Sandner also of Lawrence.  Dot leaves her grandson, Matthew L. and his wife, Denise Padvaiskas of Methuen and her sister-in-law, Sylvia Petzold of Methuen as well as 2 nieces, Russanne Sandner and Rosemary Moran and a nephew, Robert L. Sandner.  Dorothy’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff  of the second floor at Sutton Hill Nursing Center as well as the staff of Compassus Hospice Care for their kind and compassionate care.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 10 to 11am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 163 East Haverhill St., Lawrence, MA. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 27th at 11:00 am at Redeemer Lutheran.  Burial will immediately follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
