Donald J. Rose, 91, entered the presence of his Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 24, at home, surrounded by his loving family.  A life-long Methuen resident, Don was the son of Donald and Millie (Keighley) Rose. He graduated from Searles High School in 1944 immediately entering the Navy in which he served until 1946. He worked as a tool and die maker for several local companies. He was an active member of Marsh Corner Community Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, deacon and as a “bus captain” bringing children from the community to hear the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. He enjoyed family gatherings and the visits of his loved ones and friends. He was an avid woodworker who provided many items of furniture that his family treasures. His dear wife Thelma (Fone) Rose passed away in 2003. He will be remembered as a man who loved his family and was a faithful servant of His Lord. He is survived by his daughters Beverly and her husband Rev. Richard Jones of Apollo Beach, FL, and Shirley and her husband Charles Ripley of Methuen. His grandchildren are Scott Jones and his wife Kera, Christopher Jones and his wife Katherine, Marc Jones and his wife Mary Beth, Rebekah Rapoza and her husband Arthur, David Ripley and his wife Rebecca, and James Ripley and his wife Carolyn. His great-grandchildren are Lucas Jones and his wife Emily; Phillip, Callie, Logan, Madison, Reagan and Mia Jones; McKenzie and Kacy Rapoza; and Emma and Hannah Ripley. His great-great- granddaughter is Ophelia Jones. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Doris (Rose) Russell.
