Dana Landers, age 62, of New Bedford Massachusetts, passed away on Monday July 24, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. A Vietnam era Navy Veteran, former State Representative for District 2 in the New Hampshire State House and published author, Dana will be missed by many. Dana was known for his wit, ability to connect with people and for being an avid lover of music. He enjoyed spending time with and cooking for his family. Dana was born in Berlin, New Hampshire on December 27, 1954 and grew up in Lawrence, Massachusetts. 

Predeceased by his parents Gerard and Joyce, as well as his brothers, Rick and John.  

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lizabeth Landers of New Bedford and children, Christopher Landers and Rebecca Colby of Lunenburg, VT; David Landers of Los Angeles, CA; Scott Landers of Newport, RI; and Tracy Landers of New Bedford, MA. He also leaves behind his granddaughter Ericka McGettigan (daughter of Tracy) of New Bedford MA. Dana is also leaving behind his siblings, Gerard Landers Jr. and wife Sandy of Berlin, NH; Stanley Landers of Merritt Island, FL; Shelley Bussey and husband Roland of Pittsfield, ME; Rhonda Laflamme and husband Patrick of Whitefield, NH and James Morse and wife Jennifer of New York, as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Calling hours will be held at Dewhirst Funeral Home on Broadway in Methuen MA at 9:00am on Monday July 31, 2017 with military burial to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Methuen.
