Bruce Neff

Bruce Neff, 82, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon March 15, 2015, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. Bruce was born in Worcester, MA.  August 15, 1932 and was raised and educated in Lawrence, MA. He was a 1950 graduate of Lawrence High School. Bruce served with the United States Navy from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. He worked for the former First National Stores where he got his start learning the meat cutting industry. For a short time he worked as a proofreader with Currier Citizen Co. in Lowell before joining with Stop and Shop in 1958. He worked there for 21 years starting as an apprentice meat cutter and working his way up to Senior Meat Buyer. In 1979 Bruce joined Roche Brothers as Meat and Deli Director until 1986, when he was promoted to President of Hans Kissle, retiring in 1997.

Bruce enjoyed his many vacations to Disney World with his family and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Carol A. (Fargen) Neff of Methuen, four children, Michael Neff of Albuquerque, NM, Heidi Neff of Methuen, Stephen Neff and his wife Susan of Methuen, and Susan Neff and her companion Bill White of Methuen.  Three grandchildren, Shawn, Elyse, Allison and a brother John Neff and his wife Nancy of Scarborough, ME.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday March 19, 2015 from 10am to Noon at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.  Graveside services will follow at Noon on Thursday at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
