Arthur L. Marchand

Arthur L. Marchand, 86, of Methuen, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, February 11, 2018, with his devoted family at his side.

The son of the late Aimee and Dehlia (Lafreniere) Marchand, Arthur was born in Lawrence on March 24, 1931, and was educated in Lawrence schools.  A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the United States Navy and saw service in Korea.  He received several awards and decorations for his service in Korea.  He was employed as a truck driver for various companies for his entire life, retiring from Raymer's Express.  Arthur was a member of the American Legion, Post 122 of Methuen.  In his spare time, Arthur enjoyed painting, playing darts, horseshoes, fishing, and was an avid camper with his family for over 40 years.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lorraine R. (Leveille) Marchand of Methuen; his children, John Marchand and his wife Brenda of Exeter, NH; Diane Dougherty and her husband Mark of Sandown, NH; Sheila Silva of Exeter, NH; Dan Marchand of Methuen; James Marchand of Methuen; Arthur Marchand and his wife Cheryl of Methuen; and Randy Marchand of Florida; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Pacheco of Plaistow, NH; and several nieces and nephews.

Arthur was predeceased by his son, Wayne Marchand of Methuen; a brother and a sister.
