Richard C. Dewhirst, the President and owner of Dewhirst Family Care, personally offers families over 30 years of experience and professionalism in the field of funeral management and planning.
Mr. Dewhirst, a licensed Funeral Director in the states of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Fitchburg State College and Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Funeral Service from New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences.
As his father Charles F. Dewhirst, Jr. and grandfather Charles F. Dewhirst Sr. did before him, Richard maintains his family's commitment to service and "compassionate care" for the distinct needs of families in the Merrimack Valley and Southern NH.
In that spirit, Mr. Dewhirst is involved closely with the community. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of The Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce, The President of the Holy Family Hospital Men’s Guild, Past President of the Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association, past President of the Methuen Arlington Neighborhood Association, and Past President of the Berkeley Retirement Home in Lawrence.
Mr. Dewhirst also maintains a position of leadership in many civic and fraternal organizations such as the Past Board Chair of First Church Congregational, Past Master of The John Hancock Masonic Lodge, former Director of Neighbors in Need, Past President and Paul Harris Fellow of the Salem/Methuen Rotary Club, and Past President of the Methuen Board of Trade where he was recognized as their 2008 Person of the Year.
Mr. Dewhirst is a licensed Insurance Agent in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, is a nationally recognized Certified Funeral Pre-Planning Consultant, and Certified Funeral Service Practitioner. He can provide expert funeral planning services that assist you in making yours and your loved ones future more secure.
Albert A. Abdallah
Mr. Albert A. Abdallah, associated with the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home for more than 40 years, offers area families a personal history of excellence.
Mr. Abdallah, licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, graduated with an Associates Degree in Science from The New England Institute of Anatomy.
He has also served on the board of directors of the Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association (MFDA).
s a second generation Funeral Director and a life-long resident of Methuen, Mr. Abdallah offers the same commitment to service and compassionate caring that is synonymous with the Dewhirst name.
Sarah A. Stopyra
Mrs. Sarah A. Stopyra has been with the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Homes since 2002 and is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer as well as a pre-need specialist.
Mrs. Stopyra was raised in West Hartford, Connecticut and Leominster, MA. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Framingham State College with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and then attended the Funeral Institute of the Northeast where she received her Associates in Funeral Service in 2004. She has since made the Merrimack Valley her home and currently resides in South Lawrence with her husband Richard and son Julian.
Mrs. Stopyra is deeply committed to providing compassionate and personal service to the families she serves.
